MUSD Spelling Bee Three-Peat! Bryant Banzhaf Claims Third Consecutive District Title!

Bryant Banzhaf, a seventh-grade student from Marana Middle School, earned first place in the annual Marana Unified School District Spelling Bee for the third consecutive year, an extraordinary accomplishment.
All spelling bee participants showcased exceptional spelling skills, focus, and perseverance. This year’s competition featured challenging vocabulary and impressive performances from all participants. Throughout the competition, students tackled a rigorous list of challenging words, including ramshackle, miniature, echelon, quesadilla, and cilantro.
Bryant claimed the District championship in Round 11, after going toe-to-toe with runner-up Razin Karim, an eighth grader at Dove Mountain CSTEM School, for three intense rounds. He ultimately secured the win by correctly spelling the final word, “aphasia.” Notably, 4th place finisher Andrew Banzhaf is the younger brother of champion Bryant, making this year’s competition a special family moment.
Superintendent Dr. Streeter proudly presented trophies to the top finishers in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
