Lerona Dickson
Elementary
Ms. Dickson was born and raised in Arizona, the proud daughter of a cotton farmer. She earned a Bachelor's of Education and a Master’s of Education Counseling from Northern Arizona University.
Lerona has been in the field of education for over 30 years. She has served as a teacher, high school counselor and administrator in Arizona and California. She was thrilled to move to DMK8 in 2024 to spend her days working directly with elementary students. At DMK8, Lerona is able to utilize her skill-set and passion to ensure students have a safe place to talk, small group counseling, as well as classroom lessons.
In her free time, Lerona loves to hike, cook, garden, read, and travel around the world. She has spent her professional life serving students of all ages and that is truly her passion!

Amy DeShazo
Middle School
I was born in Seoul, South Korea. My father served in the US Army so I moved frequently in my early childhood. After my father retired from service we relocated to Tucson, Arizona. I attended Santa Rita High School and continued my education at the University of Arizona where I received my BA in Psychology. In my senior year at the University of Arizona, I worked as a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional at Intermountain Centers for Human Development. Here I found my passion working with children and adolescents. I decided to pursue a career in school counseling and received my M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling at Vanderbilt University. I am excited to join the Dove Mountain CSTEM K-8 Counseling team and looking forward to meeting our wonderful students and their families.
